Comments from Kevin R. Webb, program officer, Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation, from the Grantseeker's Guide to Winning Proposals:
“All of the components were well-balanced in relation to one another. The proposal’s statement of need was outstanding as it was backed up with evidence and met our funding interests. The proposal as a whole was business-like, straightforward, and easy to read. Further, all expected attachments were included and were relevant, without extraneous material. “Before making a final decision, we did go back to the grantee for clarification. We often work with applicants to strengthen proposals. Clarification was required about sub-grantee selection, recruitment plans, and who would advise the project. The budget was presented clearly, but due to the nature of the project, we did need to delve deeper into some proposed costs than were initially provided. A more extensive budget narrative would have been helpful."
