Comments from The Reverend Christopher Worthley, Executive Director, Allianz Foundation for North America, from The Grantseekers Guide to Winning Proposals:
The proposal’s straightforward structure consisted of a summary request with all necessary contact information, an agency overview, background on the proposed project, the project plan itself, a timeline, projected outcomes and a clear budget, all in logical order. This information made it very easy to understand what Project Return intended to accomplish with the proposed $50,000 grant. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to discern precisely what an applicant intends to accomplish with a proposed grant, and this can be very distracting for foundation staff, grant committees, and board members alike. Project Return’s proposal was clear, concise, and attended fully to our Foundation’s explicit giving guidelines and application procedures.
